TALENT DEVELOPMENT
Before the Pandemic, Saint Louis Ballet dancers and outreach directors visited underserved schools to give them an experience of dance classes and creative movement opportunities. Through these workshops and seminars SLB leaders selected students who showed potential and offered full scholarship opportunities to them to study formal classes at Saint Louis Ballet School. Three students in 2016 were awarded these scholarships. All expenses were provided and continue to be provided. Since 2016 one of those students have continued and blossomed in her dance studies, Jasiel! Read about Jasiel below!
Meet Jasiel:
Jasiel is one of the three scholarship recipients from Pointe To Succeed who received free classical ballet training at Saint Louis Ballet School after having been exposed to ballet through Saint Louis Ballet's Pointe To Succeed Program.
Jasiel has continued to take classes regularly on full scholarship and now classes weekly including two ballet classes, a pre-pointe class, hip hop, contemporary, and jazz!
We will be watching her progress!
